Waveform viewer (simvision)

The "simvision" is a waveform viewer, it displays the simulation result as a waveform.
% simvision
Then, the screen arises up like a below figure.

First, as for that it should display which, the information on the simulation result specifies the file of the contained data base. It chooses "File-> the data base to be open" from the menu of the SimVision or tool bar it design browser window.

That it opens here is a file (directory ", waves.shm" in "waves.trn" which was generated in the directory which did a simulation). It is displayed as follows when it opens.

simvision_start.png (8.81 KB)

Because "alu_test" is displayed in the range tree, it clicks this, "it tests and" it can mean "the signal/the variable in the range :" about the upper right "wave ::alu_". The signal which can be observed is displayed on the right. When clicking the topper of the signal with the mouse and dragging it when going out in the boiling for it to go along exactly and being, all of the signals can be chosen. It does a right click about this condition and it clicks it of "you send it to make a corrugated window a target" or the tool bar.tool_select2. pngIt clicks "WO".

All signals are displayed as the strip and a simulation result is displayed with the corrugated display window. simvision_result.gif

Are you working right? Take notice of the change of the entry and the change of the output in advance.

The one when referred to is a basic operation simulation.

This place tests only addition computation. Later, as for the computation with 15 times, it tests it when doing the simulation of the whole processor. Because it goes along, be careful of that the computation with 15 times in it which isn't tested may have a bug in advance.

Way, when ending a simulation in the corrugated display window, the simulation control window together, choose. Then, you end "menu-> the file at the exit".

The above, the design and the simulation of the ALU have ended.

Next, design registers for the KITE.
