He was born in Fukuoka, Japan.

• He received the B.E. degree from the Department of Electronics, Faculty of Engineering, Fukuoka University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1987.
• He received the M.E. and D.E. degrees from the Department of Information Systems, Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences, Kyushu University, in 1989 and 1992, respectively.
• He was a Lecturer at the Center for Microelectronic Systems, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Iizuka, Japan, starting in 1992.
• He was an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan, starting in 1998.
• He is currently an Associate Professor in the Computer Science group, Advanced Science and Technology, Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan.

His research interests include parallel processing, computer architecture, reconfigurable Computing and VLSI system desiHis research interests include parallel processing, computer architecture, reconfigurable Computing and VLSI system design. He is a member of the Information processing Society of Japan (IPSJ) and Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE).
